Meet Ryan – mountain biker extraordinaire and Stargate Senior

This is Ryan. He’s a high school senior at Stargate which is near and dear to my heart because both of my kids go to Stargate too. I’ve known his sweet mom for years and am lucky to call her my friend. So you can imagine how excited I was when she called to set up Ryan’s senior photos.

So where do you photograph a senior who is all about endurance bike racing in the Colorado Mountains?

I knew the perfect spot! Purple Park in Superior!

Purple Park is such a great location for a senior photo shoot because you can get so many different looks within a small distance of each other.

Time to Set up the bike and the lights for the next part of this senior photo shoot

For the second half of this shoot, we moved across the street. Ryan got himself into his bike racing gear while I set up the lights so we could do some creative work with off-camera flash while the sun set behind us.

We could tell the sky was going to put on a show for us!

I will confess to not knowing a dang thing about mountain bikes but other bikers at this location were telling Ryan that he had a kick-ass bike during these photos.

I am so happy that I had the opportunity to do Ryan’s senior photos. I think we captured exactly what we were looking for during this photo shoot. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Ryan although I have no doubt that he will handle all the challenges of life with patience and stamina. He’s an endurance bike racer, after all!
